If it covers apex seals, woo carmax warranty! Be the next DeMuro!

Yeah I always thought Apex seals were a wear item and not covered under warranties.

No the worst idea, but that price is a little CP, IMO.

Hence the 'if', because I've never had a warranty in my short adult driving life.

Should cover Apex Seals. They are not on the maintenance schedule and are not specifically called out by Carmax as not covered.

Just maintain it like you are supposed to maintain a rotary and it should be smooth sailing. Just don't expect high mpg's.

Not a bad price at all, and it's the "better" Gen 2 version. And IIRC, Mazda extended the warranties on the RX-8 to 8 years and 100k miles, specifically on the engine, including seals.

Great cars - Just remember they love high RPMs, most issues reside from babying them and washing out the apex seals due to unburnt fuel.

how much better are the 2nd gens?

Mazda says much better , but I don't know if any of the changes are really groundbreaking. I do think they look better though.

Yeah I definitely like the 2nd gen more. The R3 trim is still hot.
